U.S. military: No Iraq troop cuts this year
Senior U.S. military leaders say it would be "impractical" to reduce U.S. troop levels in Iraq further before the end of the year because of the logistics required in the redeployments, two military officials told CNN Thursday.
Pakistan, Afghanistan deplore U.S. attacks
Pakistan lashed out at the United States and the Afghan president spoke with President Bush after U.S. military strikes that leaders of the two nations say killed scores of civilians. Pakistan accused the United States of perpetrating "cowardly acts against innocent civilians." Afghan President Hamid Karzai spoke to President Bush on Wednesday about an airstrike in Herat province which he says killed 90 civilians.
